Partnership Fund Message
From the Chair Emeritus
TJ has profoundly affected and accelerated the academic career and personal growth of my son and his peers. The astonishing positive spirit and substance of their experience here will comfort them forever.
It’s ironic, therefore, that I find myself leading a TJ support organization that I wish didn’t exist.
Incredibly, our nation’s best-known public high school (Number 1 in 2007, 2008, and 2009 according to US News and World Report) is in chronic financial straits that threaten its continued ability to excel. This year, the financial shortfall will be approximately $750,000. In the context of a growing demand for talent and brains in the fields of science, technology, math and engineering, this seems inconceivable.
But it’s true … and it’s the only reason for the existence of the TJ Partnership Fund.
The nonprofit Partnership Fund’s volunteers give of our time and resources partly because we love TJ, but also because we realize that we have little choice. TJ is not just a great high school: It has become a symbol of our nationwide objective to compete in the most crucial disciplines of the global economy, and its research and equipment facilities are “out of shape.”
You can help! I hope you’ll write a check for $500 or more, but there are other ways you can contribute to TJ’s continued success and help meet its pressing needs. Please see how you can help.
