TJ Community Grants are awarded to TJ’s clubs, organizations, and boosters for activities that support the School’s mission. By filling this funding void, the PF hopes to enable worthy activities that benefit TJ students and others in our community.

Awards of up to $1,500 per organization can be used for tournament fees, equipment and technology, supplies, event costs, and just about anything else groups need with the exception of scholarships or travel expenses.

Grants totaling approximately $9,000 were made to eight clubs and teams during the 2016-2017 school year, a significant increase from the program’s inaugural year. The PF hopes to increase the amount in future years, and seeks a corporate partner or partners to sponsor all or part of the grant total.

2016-2017 Grantees:

Aerospace Initiative: Tournament entry fees ($1,500)
Art Club: Beautification, speakers ($900)
Band Boosters: Replacing worn and outdated uniforms ($1,500)
Bioinformatics Society: Event costs ($1,000)
CubeSat: Outreach satellite building event ($1,500)
Cultivators of the Earth: Beautification and possible experiments ($750)
HackTJ 4.0: Generator to support event expansion ($1,500)
PC(re)Builders: Tools and supplies for service work ($300)
