Our Mission

The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology Partnership Fund, LLC is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation that works together with the TJHSST administration to support the educational programs of one of America’s top public schools.


Our mission is to:


1) Support the unique learning opportunities, specialized curriculum and innovative research experiences available for TJ students and meet TJ’s unique needs as a premier public science and technology high school.

 

2) Provide opportunities for TJ alumni to remain connected through increased engagement opportunities, including reunion support, regional events, outreach, and mentorship programs.

 

The Partnership Fund is independent of, and not owned or operated by, Fairfax County Public Schools and the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.

 

FY2023 TJPF Highlights

  • Raised over $100,000 as part of our Giving Tuesday and #100KByNewYearsDay campaigns
  • Approved grants of over $600,000 in FY23 to support the educational programs of TJ, including:
  • $326,500 for maintenance of TJ’s university-level research instrumentation; 
  • $127,000 for upgrades to that instrumentation in TJ’s senior research and underclass lab spaces;  
  • $44,740 to support professional development for TJ’s world-class faculty, staff, and administration;
  • $40,639 to support TJPF Signature Events like HackTJ, Techstravaganza, and tjSTAR;
  • $40,247 to support TJ Student Groups in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for high school students
